Another brilliant follow up album almost two and a half years after the stunning release of "Air 2". "Sit back and we will control all that you see and hear" announces the Outer Limits sample as the opening synths overwhelm you with promising a sublime and quality experience. Air III is as album that breaks out to try something different but with much calculation and finesse. While "Oui" deals in almost solely in ethnic instruments, "Est-ce que l'amour fait mal?" will be what Air fans are most likely looking for: deep bass, string and piano melodies, ethereal vocals, …all brilliantly composed and put together. Namlook obviously had keen interest in being able to wield such sounds from around the world. A must listen.
